The week my upstairs neighbor flooded my bathroom and I actually missed the noise

Last March my upstairs neighbor's pipe burst at 2am and water came pouring through my ceiling light fixture. I had to spend 4 days in a motel while they ripped out my bathroom drywall and it cost me $350 out of pocket for the deductible. But here's the weird part, during that week in the motel I realized I actually missed the stomping and late night TV sounds from above. Now I'm back home with new drywall and quieter walls, but I keep wondering if I was just lonely or if silence is actually worse than thin walls. Anyone else have a nightmare neighbor situation that somehow made you appreciate the chaos when it was gone?
