Saw a guy in my old building on 5th St fix his slamming door with a $3 strip of felt
I was back at my old place in Portland last week helping a friend move out and the guy in 4B showed me his trick, a strip of self stick felt along the door frame where the latch hits. He said his landlord ignored three maintenance requests over 6 weeks, so he just fixed it himself and the hallway noise stopped. Has anyone else gone the DIY route like that, and did your landlord ever try to charge you for it at move out?
