Rant: my landlord said my curtain rod idea was 'fire hazard nonsense' but the noise stopped
My upstairs neighbor walks like a rhino starting at 5:30am every day, so I hung a thick moving blanket on a tension rod right inside my bedroom door to block the sound coming through the gap under it. My landlord saw it during a maintenance visit to my place in Austin and told me it was a fire hazard and to take it down, so now I use a rolled up towel wedged along the bottom of the door instead and honestly it works almost as good. Has anyone else found a cheap fix for sound coming through a door gap that won't get them yelled at by management?
