Found a giant rug at the thrift store for $12 and my downstairs neighbor stopped banging on the ceiling

Got a big fluffy bath mat at a garage sale for $5 and laid it over a scrap piece of carpet. The padding muffled my footsteps so much my neighbor actually complimented me a week later. Sometimes the cheapest fixes really do work.
