TIL the hard way that heat gun distance matters more than timing on paint strips
Took a side job last month stripping old lead paint off a porch rail in Austin and scorched a groove into the wood because I got impatient and held the gun too close for like 3 seconds... turns out the moisture bubbles tell you when it's ready, not the clock. My crew laughed at me for burning a pattern that ended up costing $120 in filler and sanding time to hide. Anyone else learn a tool trick the expensive way and want to share what it was?
