The onboarding ghost files I found in the shared drive saved my first week
Started a new job in Austin on a Monday, by Wednesday I was lost in their project folders. Then I found a folder called old_staff_misc with 14 files from someone who left in 2019. They had templates for status reports, meeting notes, even the exact email format our client expects. My manager asked how I caught up so fast, I just said I got lucky. Now I always check for leftover files from past employees before asking for help. Has anyone else found gold in an old coworker's abandoned files?

Fourteen files is a lot to call luck, but honestly it sounds like you just found the one person who actually labeled things right. I'd say give it a week before you call it a system, your old coworker might have just been weirdly organized.
