The day the office plant became my witness to a lie

Tuesday, I told my boss the printer jam because I was 20 minutes late after a flat tire, but the real story was I fell asleep in the parking lot after a late night. The plant on his desk started shedding leaves exactly when he looked at me, like it was calling me out, so I confessed and we both laughed. Has anyone else had a random object throw them under the bus at work?
