Quietly Started Labeling My USB Cables Last Week, And The Office IT Guy Asked Who Did It
I was tired of digging through a rat's nest of cables every time I needed to charge something at my desk in Austin, so I grabbed a pack of colored tape and labeled all 14 of them by device. A week later our IT guy stopped by and asked who organized the whole cabinet, then said he could tell me which cables were about to fail. Turns out three of them were already frayed near the plug and I never would have noticed. Now I want to label every cable in the building, but is there a better way than tape that doesn't turn into sticky gunk after a few months?
