Hit my 50th concrete pour and saw a pattern I ignored for years
I do flatwork for a living, mostly driveways and patios in the Phoenix area. Last month I hit pour number 50 for the year, which is a lot for a one man crew. That's when I noticed something about how I schedule my days, the jobs I start on Monday always have more callbacks than the ones I start on Thursday. Not a huge difference, maybe 1 out of 10 versus 1 out of 25, but it's consistent. Took me that long to realize I'm just rushing the prep on Mondays to beat the weekend rush. Has anyone else tracked their bad jobs by the weekday they started and found a dumb habit they missed for years?
Monday callbacks probably have more to do with the ground still being cold from the weekend than your prep speed. Thursday pours sit on dirt that's had all week to warm up and dry out, so the same rush wouldn't hurt you the same way.
