Boss told me to lie on a $14,000 insurance claim in Boise, still not sure if I did the right thing
Two summers ago I was doing contract work for a property management company in Boise and after a tenant flooded a unit the owner asked me to write the water damage up as 'sudden pipe burst' instead of the slow leak I actually found, which would bump the claim from about $4,000 to $14,000. I ended up writing the honest version and the owner stopped calling me for jobs, so part of me says I protected myself and part of me says I cost my own family a whole season of work over paperwork. Where do you all draw the line when it's not your name on the claim but your bills on the table?
