Walked out of a 4 year dental office job over a $15 supply rule

Practice manager told me I had to reuse sterilized gloves because their budget got cut, I said no and quit right there in the middle of a Tuesday shift. Was I being dramatic or is that a line you don't cross even if the bills are tight?
