TIL quitting my gym after 8 months was the best move I ever made
My gym in Austin kept promising a new squat rack for 5 months, then raised my rate from $40 to $55 without fixing the broken AC. I finally canceled last Tuesday after waiting through 12 visits where the one working bench was always taken. Everyone said I was being dramatic, but I found a small garage gym for $30 cash and get in and out in 35 minutes flat. The old place never even replied to my cancellation email, just kept charging me until I flagged it with my bank. Am I wrong for not giving them a second chance when they finally texted me a half-off offer? Has anyone else walked away from a long-time gym over broken promises like that?
