Shoutout to the coworker who quit small talk at lunch and just sat there, best 45 minutes of my week
I used to eat lunch with a group in the break room where every day was the same script about the weather and everyone's weekend plans. Then Dana from accounting started sitting alone at the corner table with a book, and I joined her about 6 weeks ago. Turns out 45 minutes of quiet beats an hour of pretending to care about someone's nephew's soccer game, and I get back to my desk calmer. I'm not saying I quit people forever, but I quit that table cold turkey. Has anyone else dumped a lunch crew and felt weirdly guilty about it?
