Serious question, I quit my dishwashing gig at a place in Boise after my manager taped a mop schedule to the walk-in door
Last Friday my manager taped a mop schedule to the walk-in door that said every closer had to mop for exactly 22 minutes, no more and no less. I timed my first mop and did the whole floor in 8 minutes, so I stood there for the other 14 pretending to scrub the same spot by the freezer. The next night I just mopped fast, clocked out 14 minutes early, and got written up for "stealing time from the team." So I untied my apron, hung it on the dish machine, and walked out at 9:15 on a Saturday rush with a full rack of plates still dripping. Part of me thinks I should have just mopped slower like everyone else, but the other part thinks a job that pays you to stare at a wet floor is not a job. Was I the jerk here, or was the schedule the jerk?
