Leaving my Tuesday shift with zero notice last month, and I think the people here calling that 'burning a bridge' are being way too soft
I'd been at this coffee shop on 5th in San Diego for 14 months, and last month I walked off a Tuesday shift when the manager wrote me up for taking a 10 minute break during a 9 hour stretch with no other closer. I clocked out, left the keys on his desk, and didn't call in sick or send a long dramatic text, I just stopped showing up. A few folks here seem to think you owe a job two weeks no matter what, but I had already asked twice about our break policy and got brushed off both times. If a place won't follow basic labor rules, why do I owe them a polite exit?
