Found a 2 minute trick before walking out of any job and it saved me from a bad call in Reno
Two weeks ago I was ready to walk off a $19 an hour warehouse gig in Reno because the night shift lead kept switching my schedule. Before I said anything, I sat in my car and wrote down the three things that would actually make me stay: fixed hours, a $1 raise, and a lead who tells me changes a day ahead. Took me two minutes on a receipt. Then I asked for all three at once instead of getting mad and storming out. They gave me the hours and the raise but not the schedule notice, so I said I would think on it for a week. By day four the lead actually started giving me a heads up and I stayed. Writing it down first stopped me from making the fight about feelings instead of the actual list. Anyone else do some kind of paper check before they walk, and did it ever change your mind?
