A designer told me my flyers were shouting, she was right

I do my own listings for side gigs. Boss said my layouts were loud. Hired a designer in Phoenix for one job. She said my 11pt bold everywhere was screaming at buyers. Swapped to one headline, clean body text. My open house foot traffic doubled after that. Has anyone else gotten feedback that obvious and ignored it for years?
