Wasted $300 on a 'certified' battery cart that died in 2 months
Picked up a used battery cart from some guy on Facebook Marketplace near the PHX airport. Said it was recently serviced and certified. Got it back to the hangar and it worked for maybe 6 weeks before the charger completely fried. Opened it up and the wiring was a mess, cheap parts too. Live and learn I guess. Anyone else get burned buying used ground equipment?

@evangarcia had me laughing with that certified hot dog line. I bought a "rebuilt" tug from a guy off McDowell Road once and the battery terminals were wired with speaker cable.

You really paid $300 for a "certified" battery cart from some guy near the PHX airport? That's like buying a "certified pre-owned" hot dog from a gas station. I'm not surprised the wiring was a mess under the hood. These Facebook Marketplace dudes always slap a fresh coat of paint on junk and call it good to go. At least you only wasted 6 weeks of your time with it. Next time just bring a generator and a long extension cord to the hangar, way cheaper and less headache.
