That cheap paint gun from harbor freight surprised me on a Cessna interior job
Last month I was doing some touch up work on a 172 interior over at KAPA in Colorado and my regular Iwata gun started acting up halfway through. I had a $20 harbor freight purple gun in my truck that I bought as a joke a few years ago for a garage project. Figured what the hell, cleaned it up real good and tried it out on some scrap aluminum first. The thing actually laid down a pretty even coat with no orange peel or fisheye issues. I ended up finishing the whole job with it and the customer was happy. The only catch is you gotta thin your paint a bit more than usual and watch your air pressure like a hawk. Has anyone else had luck with those cheap guns on actual aircraft work or did I just get lucky?

Heard a guy say it's all about how clean you keep the nozzle.

Think it's more about the type of filament you're using.
