Old supervisor's torque tip from 2009 still keeps me out of trouble
Back at my first shop in Phoenix, a supervisor named Dale told me to always double check the torque on anything safety wired, even if I just did it. I thought he was just being slow and picky. Last month I found a loose bolt on an elevator cable bracket that would have grounded the plane after about 20 more cycles. That 2 minute habit has caught 3 real issues over the years. Anyone else got an old timer rule they ignored at first but swear by now?
