I finally got to work on a classic Cessna 172's landing gear last week

The shimmy damper was completely shot, and the owner said it had been shaking for months. Anyone have a favorite replacement part or a trick for getting those old bushings seated just right?

Oh man, I read that freezing them first can help.

Freezing things is a whole science experiment sometimes. My cousin tried to freeze avocados once and ended up with weird brown mush. Makes you wonder if the internet gives good advice or just weird kitchen lore.
