Hot take: the worst AOG day I ever had turned into my best shift
Last March we had a Cessna 172 come in with a cracked exhaust muffler at 2 PM, and the part was three states away. Everyone assumed we'd cancel the afternoon flight lesson, but I grabbed a spare from our hangar inventory and swapped it in 45 minutes. The student pilot even watched and asked questions, which I usually hate, but it kept him calm. We got the plane back in the air before sunset, and that never happens on a Friday. Anyone else find that the days you expect to be total losses end up being the most satisfying?
