Hot take: Avionics updates are dragging jobs out
We had a jet stuck in the hangar for weeks waiting on a navigation system update. The techs were just sitting around while the clock kept running. I see this happen a lot with newer planes now. Does anyone else feel like we spend more time waiting than fixing? It just tests your patience after a while.

Yeah but those updates stop way bigger headaches down the line. We had a plane with a failing satcom unit that the new software would have caught. Ended up needing a full swap, which cost way more downtime and money than just waiting for the initial patch. Sometimes the hangar time now saves you from an AOG situation later.

Yeah, that hangar time wisdom is spot on.

You ever have one of those software patches that just refuses to load right? We had a G650 grounded for days because the new fuel computer update kept failing its checks. The plane was fine, the techs were ready, but we just sat there watching a progress bar. Totally get what you mean about it testing your patience. @aaronallen is right about that hangar time adding up, and it feels awful billing a client for what looks like nothing happening.
