Dropped $400 on a new borescope and it just saved a 737 from a major delay
We had a fuel smell in the cabin and couldn't find the source with our old, blurry unit. The new one had a better light and camera, so I spotted a tiny seep at a line coupling in the center tank in about 15 minutes. What's the one tool purchase that's paid for itself the fastest for you guys?

Gotta be honest, that sounds like a win for the tool, not the purchase. My old borescope would've found that leak too, just took more time and patience. Sometimes it's the tech, sometimes it's just needing a fresh look.

But a better tool creates that fresh look.

Read an article a while back about how newer tools can change your whole process. They argued it's not just about finding the same problem faster. A better tool can make you check things you used to skip because it was a hassle. That fresh look you mentioned? Sometimes the tech itself puts you in a different headspace to actually take that look. My two cents is they feed into each other.
