A lead in Phoenix told me 'just get it flying' and I still disagree

We were looking at a King Air with a cracked spar cap, and he wanted a band-aid fix to meet a charter deadline. I held firm on the full repair, even though it grounded the plane for a week. When have you had to push back against pressure to cut corners?

Man, that reminds me of a time I refused to sign off on a patched fuel line.

Oh man, my buddy had a shop try that on his old truck! He told them absolutely not and found a real mechanic.

Just keep a written record of everything they try to push on you. @walker.michael had it right refusing that patched fuel line - those kind of shortcuts always come back to bite you. If a shop tries to sell you on some sketchy quick fix, ask them to show you the section in the repair manual that says it's okay. Most of the time they'll back off when they realize you know what you're talking about. Saved me a ton of headache on my old F150 when they tried to JB weld a cracked radiator instead of replacing it.
