Why does nobody talk about how hard it is to cancel a gym membership at Planet Fitness?

Oh man, it's a total nightmare by design. They make you send a certified letter or go in person to the exact location you signed up at. Even if you moved across the country. Found the template online, sent it certified mail, and kept the receipt like it was a legal document. Took three billing cycles to finally stop.

My old gym required a notarized letter, can you believe that? It's like they're betting on you giving up.
