Took me 3 hours to change a light fixture that shouldve been 20 minutes
Last Saturday I finally decided to swap out the ugly boob light in my hallway for a flush mount LED. Watched a 5 minute YouTube video first and thought yeah I got this. Took off the old fixture in 2 minutes then spent the next 2.5 hours trying to figure out why the new one wouldnt mount flush. Turns out the old electrical box was recessed too deep and I needed a longer screw and a bracket adapter. Three trips to Lowes later it was done. Has anyone else had a simple home project turn into an all day disaster?

Man oh man do I feel your pain on this one. I swear every simple home project has that one hidden surprise that turns it into a whole saga. My record is 4 hours to install a new toilet seat because the old bolts were rusted solid and I had to hacksaw them off. Yours honestly sounds way more frustrating with the multiple Lowes trips though. Hope you're enjoying that flush mount light now, you definitely earned it.

I get what you're saying @cole_walker26, but it was actually Home Depot, not Lowes. Same kind of place though, you know how those stores have a way of emptying your wallet and patience. That toilet seat story is brutal though, 4 hours for something that should take 20 minutes is exactly the kind of trap I'm talking about.
