Thought I was on top of my bills until the power got shut off in the middle of a work call
So this happened about 3 weeks ago and I'm still heated about it. I was on a Zoom call with my boss and a client, doing my whole responsible adult thing, when my screen just went black and the wifi died. My laptop had maybe 20 percent battery left so I ran around panicking before it hit me that the whole apartment was dead quiet. I had paid my electric bill, or at least I thought I had, but apparently my autopay got switched to an old card I cancelled back in January and I never noticed the emails. The power company shut me off and wanted a 175 dollar deposit plus the 90 bucks I owed to turn it back on, money I did not have sitting around that week. My neighbor let me charge my phone in her kitchen and I had to tell my boss my internet "went down" while I sat there in the dark like a clown. Now I check every autopay on the first of the month like it's a religion. Anyone else get burned by a card switch they forgot to update?

Set phone calendar alerts for every autopay date.
