Slept on a floor for 4 nights because I forgot to register for graduation housing

I moved to Austin for a summer internship, booked a sublet 6 weeks ahead, and only realized the lease was furnished except a bed when I showed up Friday at 10 PM, so I blew $300 on a cheap inflatable mattress that deflated by morning and had to wait 4 days for the rental place to deliver a proper frame, has anyone else paid the dumb tax on forgetting basic furniture?
