My accountant's blunt question about my "treat yourself" habit

Last Tuesday during tax prep, my accountant looked over my coffee shop receipts and asked, "Do you know what $4,700 a year could be doing instead?" that hit me way harder than any lecture from my mom ever did. I sat there adding up all those $6 lattes and $12 lunches and realized I'd been using small purchases to cope with a job I hate. Has anyone else had a professional casually point out a spending pattern that made you rethink your whole setup?

Forty seven hundred dollars on coffee? That's a whole used car sitting in your cup holder. I'd have needed a minute to breathe after hearing that one.
