I thought the 'freeze your credit' thing was just fear-mongering until my phone bill got rejected

A bank teller in Phoenix told me to do it after a data breach, but I ignored it for months. Then I tried to upgrade my plan and the system flagged me because someone had already opened an account in my name at the same carrier. Has anyone else had to actually go through the thaw process? How long did it take you?

Ugh, the thaw took three full days for me last year.

Wait, only three days? Mine was way faster, like a few hours. Maybe it depends on the bureau you call.
