Why does nobody talk about the three month rule for making new friends?

I moved to Portland six months ago and it took me exactly 92 days of weekly board game nights before anyone texted me outside the group chat. Has anyone else noticed it always takes at least a season for a new hobby friend to become a real friend?

90 days is honestly way too long to be invested in something that probably just boils down to basic pub trivia. You could have learned the same stuff in a week with a good podcast or a couple of YouTube videos. Trivia crews are usually just awkward social clubs where nobody wants to admit they're not actually that funny or smart.
