I paid $85 for a birthday dinner for a friend who forgot mine, and I would do it again
Three years ago I dropped $85 on a nice dinner for a buddy's 30th at a place in Portland, he never even texted me on my birthday that same year, and I kept showing up anyway because the friends who stick around are the ones you feed when it costs you something, so where do you draw the line between being generous and being a doormat?
