I dropped $400 on a fancy group cooking class to make friends and it was a total bust

Everyone was paired up with the person they came with and just talked to them the whole time. I spent the whole night awkwardly trying to jump into conversations while chopping onions. It felt more like a bad date night than a way to meet people. Has anyone actually had a good experience with a paid activity for this, or should I just stick to the dog park? lmao

I always thought those classes were a sure thing for meeting people. Your story makes me see it's a real gamble. The dog park sounds a lot more reliable.
