Hit 10 real friends after 35 - never thought I'd get there

I used to think having more than 5 close friends as an adult was impossible. Everyone's busy with kids, jobs, all that. But I started tracking who actually showed up when I needed help moving last year. That number kept growing. Now at 37, I hit 10 people I could call at 3am. How many do you count as real friends?

Used to think the whole "3am call" thing was just something people said online. Then my neighbor got stuck at the airport with a flat tire and two kids at 2am. Listed off 12 people and 8 picked up right then. Changed my whole view on what friendship actually looks like when you stop counting social media likes and start counting actual help.

Wait, did you actually list out 12 people in your head or on a piece of paper? I did something similar a few years back when my wife's car died on the highway at midnight. I wrote down 10 names of people I thought would help and called them one by one. Seven answered, two showed up within 20 minutes with a truck and straps to tow her home. That moment kinda hit me hard - it's one thing to say you've got friends, it's another to see who actually drops everything in the middle of the night for you.
