Group chat vs actually showing up at her door in Richardson
Back in 2019 my friend Dana moved to Richardson and we tried keeping up through a group chat with 5 people in it. Turns out a message every few weeks is not the same as seeing someone, because after about 8 months I realized I had no idea what was going on in her life and she had no idea about mine. I started just driving over on Sunday mornings with coffee instead, no planning, and that did more in 2 months than 40 texts did all year. Does anyone else find that the low effort stuff online feels like keeping up but really isn't?
