Debate: Is it selfish to cancel plans last minute for your mental health?

Last Wednesday I had plans to grab coffee with a friend I haven't seen in 3 months. But that morning I woke up feeling completely drained from a rough week at work. I ended up texting her at 9 AM saying I couldn't make it and she got really quiet then said "okay whatever." Now I'm wondering if I was being a good friend by honoring my limits or a bad one by bailing on short notice. How do you guys balance taking care of yourself versus keeping your word with friends?

9 AM is solid notice, I'd say you're fine.

9 AM is not last minute, that's giving her a few hours notice which is pretty reasonable. You can say no to coffee without being a bad friend.
