A buddy told me my stories at parties always sound like I'm bragging, so I started asking people more questions instead of just talking.
Took me a solid 6 months to actually break the habit of jumping in with my own experience, but now I actually know what's going on in my friends' lives instead of just waiting for my turn to talk.

@mark611 appreciate that. Six months of slow, agonizing progress and I only broke three things along the way (including a coffee table, my phone screen, and my own spirit). It's funny how you can spend months getting good at something and still feel like you're just barely keeping your head above water most days. But hey, at least the scars make for good stories, right? Starting from square one with half-baked ideas is way harder than it looks on YouTube tutorials.
