Was skeptical about adobe patch vs stucco, 2 winters proved me wrong

Everyone on my street in the North Valley swore by the quick cement patch for their cracks. I went with a traditional adobe mud mix for my 30 foot wall last fall, total cost around $120. Sure it took longer to dry, but after those hard freezes in January, mine is holding while my neighbor's cement patch is already spidering out. Anyone else seen cement pull away from old adobe?
