Rant: My adobe gate hinge broke after 30 years and nobody stocks the old-style replacements

Went to three hardware stores in Albuquerque last Saturday looking for a 5-inch heavy strap hinge for my 1950s gate and got told they only carry the skinny modern ones now, anyone know a salvage yard or custom shop in the South Valley that could help?

Try Green's Salvage off 2nd Street, they've got a bin of old gate hardware behind the counter. Did you check Desert Moon Architectural Salvage yet?

Jenny Jackson did you check that bin recently or has it been picked through? Last time I was there the guy behind the counter said they rotate stock quick on hardware.
