Question about replacing a water heater in the Northeast Heights
I spent $1200 on a new 40-gallon gas water heater from Ferguson last fall and it saved me big time. The old one was from 2001 and finally started leaking all over the garage floor. Installation was a bit extra, but having hot water again without worry was worth it. Anyone have a good plumber they used for something similar, or did you go the DIY route?

Did you see that news story last month about the guy who tried to install his own and nearly flooded his whole basement? Made me think twice about doing it myself. Your price sounds pretty fair for a new gas unit with install. I used a guy named Mike for mine, but he's booked out for weeks now. What kind of warranty did yours come with?

Wait, your old water heater was from 2001? That thing was a dinosaur! I'm shocked it lasted that long, mine barely made it 12 years. You got your money's worth for sure, holding out that long. A leak after all that time is basically it dying of old age. Makes that $1200 seem like a solid deal to not have a flood on your hands.
