Paid $850 to get my swamp cooler line replaced, saved my ceiling and I'm still not sure I got a deal
Last June the copper line on my roof started dripping right above the hallway and I didn't notice until the paint bubbled. Got a guy off Montgomery to swap the whole line and add a shutoff valve, cost me $850 out the door. He said the old line was so corroded it was a matter of time before it let go during a monsoon. I know some folks just cap theirs and switch to refrigerated, but I grew up here and I like the swamp cooler. Does $850 sound high for a full line swap plus the valve, or did I do okay?
