My swamp cooler motor burned out twice in one month, need a brand that lasts
Last month my 12 year old motor finally gave up on my roof unit over near the North Valley. I paid a guy $180 to put in a replacement he swore was heavy duty. Eight days later that same motor locked up and started smoking something awful. He came back and said the bearings were bad from the factory, but he charged me another $60 for labor on the swap. Now I am wondering if I should just buy my own motor next time and find someone to install it separate. Has anyone else dealt with these cheap replacement motors dying that fast around here? What brand or model have you had luck with for a swamp cooler in this dust? I am tired of paying for labor twice a month.
