Just realized I spent $87 on rooferooter calls this year for the same damn clog.

Three separate visits at $29 a pop and the guy finally told me it's tree roots in the main line, not the kitchen sink, so now I gotta rent a snake and dig up the yard. Anyone else pay way too much before figuring out the real issue?

$87 on rooferooter calls?! That’s INSANE. I would have lost it after the second visit when they clearly didn’t fix it.

Damn, that's rough. I've been there with a similar headache. Had a slow drain for weeks, paid a plumber $120 just to tell me "could be roots, could be a broken pipe." Finally borrowed a snake from a buddy and found a stupid T-shirt someone flushed down there. Cost me nothing but an afternoon and a lot of cussing. The real takeaway for me was that those big name companies just want to send someone out quick and collect a fee, they don't actually wanna dig into the root cause. Next time, I'm renting a sewer camera for like $50 before I call anyone. Saves you the runaround and the cash. Hope your yard heals up quick, that part sucks.
