Hot take: the $3 wax ring is why your toilet keeps leaking, not the flange
I fought a slow leak at my place off Tramway for 3 weekends in a row, pulling the toilet twice and even buying a new flange kit. What actually fixed it was a $3 jumbo wax ring and setting the bowl down in one clean shot instead of wiggling it around. Wiggling it is what squashes the wax out of place, and the bowl moves a little every time somebody sits down. Has anyone else had a leak come back after a month, and did you end up going with two stacked rings or the rubber sleeve kind?
