Fixing a leak under my kitchen sink in the North Valley turned into a two-day project
Thought it was a simple washer swap, but the old shutoff valve was totally seized and I had to replace the whole thing. Ended up making three trips to the hardware store over 48 hours. Anyone else had a 'five minute' job blow up like that?

Oh man, the "five minute job" turning into a two day project is my entire home repair life. I swear every time I touch a plumbing fitting, I'm suddenly watching a YouTube tutorial in a flooded bathroom. Those three trips to the hardware store sound very familiar, I always forget one specific washer or fitting. At this point I just assume any fix will take three times longer and cost twice as much as I first thought.

Tell me about it. Started replacing a toilet flapper last month and ended up replacing the whole fill valve because the nut was fused with rust. Felt like I lived at the hardware store for a weekend.
