Drove by my first tile job from 3 years ago and it looked awful

I was over by Montgomery last week and passed by that little bathroom I did back in 2022 for a rental. The grout is all cracked and pulling away from the walls, especially around the shower niche. I used cheap big box store grout back then cause the owner wanted to save money, and I didn't push back hard enough. Now I look at it and see every mistake I was making before I went solo. Anyone else have an old job they drive by and cringe at?

You actually drove by your old work from 2022 and the grout was already cracking? That's brutal. I know the feeling though. I had a backsplash I did back in 2021 for a flip house and I used that same cheap grout. Last time I saw it the stuff was crumbling out like sand. It's a hard lesson to learn but at least we know better now.

Got a buddy who owns a painting company. He drove by a house he painted five years ago and the trim was peeling everywhere. Said he used cheap paint the homeowner picked out and didn't want to argue. He still takes the long way home to avoid looking at it.
