Wasted 3 months on a free project management tool before switching to a paid one
I was using Trello for my indie game dev project because it was free, but after 3 months I realized I was spending more time organizing cards than actually coding. Switched to Notion for $10 a month and it saved me at least 5 hours a week with its database features. Now I actually finish tasks instead of just moving them around. Has anyone else hit a wall trying to save money with a free tool that ended up costing more in time?

Bro that's rough lol. Trello is cool for simple stuff but once you have more than like 10 cards it becomes a mess to manage. I wasted a month on Asana once thinking free meant efficient but I just kept making lists and never doing anything.

Nah man I gotta disagree lol. I think the problem is people overcomplicate it. Trello is perfect if you treat it like a to-do list not a project management system. I've had like 50 cards in there before and it was fine cause I just moved stuff between three columns and ignored everything else.
