Update: My garage D&D campaign died at session 14 and the number that bugged me was 9
Nine folders of half written notes for a story nobody will ever play. Do I throw them out or is there a way to turn 14 sessions of dead ends into something?
Tbh throwing them out seems crazy to me. Nine folders is a ton of work and you clearly cared about this world enough to keep writing for 14 sessions. Dead ends in a game can still be good story beats if you switch the format, like turning them into a short zine, a blog, or even just a doc you share with friends. The fact that nobody will play it the way you planned does not mean nobody will ever read it. Campaigns die all the time but the stuff inside them usually outlives the table. I would box them up before I ever tossed them.
