Rant: My buddy Mark basically called my half-built greenhouse a 'sad plastic skeleton'
We were grabbing a beer last Friday and he asked how my backyard project was going. I admitted I hadn't touched it since April. He just looked at me and said, 'Dude, that thing is just a sad plastic skeleton now.' It hit different because he's right, it's just a frame sitting there getting sun-bleached. How do you guys push past that feeling of seeing a project rot and actually finish it?

Sad plastic skeleton" is so real... I just make myself do one tiny thing on it.

Oh man, "sad plastic skeleton" is brutal because it's funny and true at the same time. A buddy of mine had this half-built treehouse frame in his yard for like two years, and one day his wife put a little plastic flamingo next to it as a joke. He finally just paid a neighbor kid twenty bucks to hand him tools for an afternoon, and seeing someone else care about it got him going again.
